Aug. 9th, 2003 12:31 amMm, Band was fun today
Jessie was there because her mom was coaching cheerleading, so she talked to the four of us girls on the percussion squad (honest! we were only sitting on the wall because we were waiting for Adam, Deryck, and David!) and she and Jill were talking about soccer and stuff, and she started pretending to be all preppy like the cheerleaders and did us a toe-touch^^
By then, the guys had showed up, so we went on the practice field, did a slight amount of crab-walking, and did some back-marching. Being more confident, I took bigger steps this year (well, after initially just trying to stay up with jill and jennifer, neither of whom had marched before this year..) ending up on the line^^ Well, close enough:D
Then, everyone had a water-break, I read tish and jasmin's shirts (jasmin's was a drum major one 'dictionaries define marching band, Drum majors make it happier (or something), and tisha's was about all the difficult things one does in band:D I want one like that^^) and talked around with people (introduced Nicole and megan to SKH:DDDDD) And after that, we went in and practiced through Spring Break again^^ (note to self.. subasis? ) I feel so joyous that I can play it quite well... well, at about half the tempo -_- I've been doing a lot of sticking at home this evening, and I keep drumming some of the rhythms and making people tell me to be quiet^^)
People came in, and we played Turn Turn Turn a bit, I've *almost* got that memorized. I haven't tried to do it without music yet, but I think I could if I did;..
Good thing too, because we're supposed to have it memorized by tuesday.
Triplets -_-
Anyways, we started playing school's out. It seems rather straight-forward, familiar rhythms, comparatively easier counting.. But the beginning will be difficult @.@;
Syncopation is evil -_-
Anyways, we moved all the equipment and all the chairs, and went out, got some cokes from the machines, and sat down and waited half an hour for the pizza to get there^^ It was excellent.
We were supposed to line up in class order (band council first. ... Why do I never seem to get picked for those things -_- It's depressing), but I managed to sorta blend into the line^^ Like a lot of other people did -_-
We ate, and talked.. (nina is starting to scare me..) until megan realized she was ready to go, so she finished her last piece of crust really fast, went back to the band room where we confronted kelsey about wanting to quit band (DONT"!) and bethany^^ So what if I didn't recognize her McDonald's uniform? I didn't see any smile:P
Bethany was saying how this weird guy had asked him that since smiles were free if he could have two, and megan was like 'well, you can have the first one free, but the second'll cost five dollars'

Anyways, she got some stuff from their car, and we left, after seeing Stephanie ride off on her moped^^
Piddled around a lot this afternoon. Yeah.
Really thirsty right now@.@;
And sleepy.
