Bleh, I was trying to open this case of cds, and I was walking, and trying to turn on the fan at the same time.
And of course, I dropped the cds, and fell forward to try and catch them (luckily they were still in the packaging because I'm not good at opening cds when I'm walking) and I knocked the heater over:P
Of course it wasn't running, but it has a little switch on the bottom, so that if it isn't touching the floor, it turns all the way off, and you have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to come back on.
It's like, 65 outside, and very humid. I like it. Our house was colder than outside this morning (and I was freezing) strange things happen when you try to make it with a single fuzzy blanket to the couch in the living room from your bed without trying to wake all the way up or let the light get in your eyes.
and it's winter time, so those south windows+door is cruel cruel cruel.
*gets on the couch* *moves half an inch* AAAAH MY EYES
*snaps hand up to cover her eyes, with blanket attached* oh gosh that's cold ;_;;;
Somehow I miserably managed to get in some position where most of me was covered by the blanket (leather couches are v. cold in winter) with enough blanket over my face to keep out most of the light.
And then dad comes and says 'hey allie, come pour us some milk' which is code word for 'get in here and help with breakfast you lazy slob, I'm ready to eat!'
everything tasted bad. I'm blaming it on school on tuesday. even the gum wasn't up to snuff. (it tastes better now. It's lost its christmas vacation flavor though, as suspected)
Anyways, I got the cds open now-- gonna burn another copy of the tape I sent aust. I love that tape. I have a cd copy of it, but it's in my car (because for some reason I decided to leave it in my car after friday ;_;) and now I can't seem to sleep at night to any music besides it. (well, I can to PF-Wish You Were Here, but that's because it's really quiet and has a lot of instrumental parts with no singing. I fell asleep sometime during Have a Cigar, or whatever the third song is. I don't remember hearing Wish You Were Here at all. which is good. because when I hear songs when I'm trying to sleep, I can't sleep. because I try to go along with the words in my head. However, Shine On you Crazy Diamond is different, because it makes me think of old WOFS days when I used to listen to PF a lot, and it reminds me of Sirius Black, drawn
kellilla style, which reminds me of wolfwood, because that's how she draws sirius. I ended up having a dream where sirius and wolfwood were racing across the mountain because I listened to that album:P Shine On You Crazy Diamond itself reminds me of a songart
swussian did.
I really miss wofs right now:/ oh well. there's other forums. (not really though)
*grabs a cd out* if I don't start this now I won't get it done until Tuesday. and I don't feel like having two more nights of sleeplessness (because my cd is in my car still(and I'm too lazy to go get it))
I need a better way to burn music cds than windows media player. It makes me sad that I have to use it ;_;
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just remembered:D my cd player plays mp3 (I think, didn't I say I could play utter perfection on it?) so I *should* put those other songs I wanted on there but had to slice off because I didn't have my cd player (which ironically I made aust's tape with, which is missing about twenty minutes of stuff because it was a 70 minute cd. Don't you love irony? I don't) but if I start playing mp3 with it. . . it might be like my little cd player. I think that thing forgot how to play regular cds. and it takes a long time to read mp3 with it. *indecision*
ah, heck, I've got a [lot] of cds (not really. I go through cds quickly, and we're due for some backing up shortly. but there's fifty. they should last a while hopefully. and I still have a few of the cd-rws left)
( Oh, if anyone had been wondering (like aust. I hope he gets it soon) the tracklist on <3J goes as such )
*kills a few processes* well, just aim. because I don't like aim. I just minimized everything else. except this. I figure a few buffer errors won't matter because it'll be playing at *get this* -76 Db. I assume that's for Decibles, except decibles don't go negative. But go figure. -30 is about right for normal playing, and I had coldplay at negative 80 for the shorttime it was on. wish you were here went as high as -60. It really is negative, because you go up and you go -30, -28, -26 etc. You go down and eventually you'll get to -80. I really wish I knew what that thing was going on about. (I swear, I get a new stereo and it blows my mind.)
I love it though. I might've said it here before, but I really do. I had my old stereo since like, 99 (because I played backstreet boys on it and that 70's groovin' album. . .and titanic. but at first I had to play my cds on my mom's stereo. because I didn't have one. ...)
But now, I can do all that stuff I declined to for YEARS. You see, my old stereo, it didn't play cds. Well it did. But only for a few minutes. and heaven forbid you try to CHANGE THE TRACK. It would start making whirring noises, and when it quit(a fewminutes later) it would be on the last track. stopped. and then you try to play, and it'd do it again. even if you turned it off and back on, or even unplugged it (I preferred to rip the cord from the socket in anger, myself)
Ooh! I got a letter from teh ICON and the Black Roses mailing list. I don't know how I got on, but they have some pretty good music. It's like, pretty gothmetal. whatever that's called 'officially' www.IconAndTheBlackRoses.com I'm not sure who the black roses are, and who ICON is, but I dunno. and they need a keyboardist. Too bad I don't live in Europe, where they appear to be. That'd be sorta fun^^; except I wouldn't be good at it because I dont' have a keyboard and I don't play rock. I believe they have a couple of clips on their website though, so if you like HIM go check them out:) and even if you don't like HIM. listen to them anyways:P
. . .anyways. even if you unplugged my cd player, it wouldn't play. So I just left it off for years. once in a while I'd play tapes, but then I lost my Iron Butterfly tape so I quit that. And there are no good radio stations during most of teh day/week here, so unless I happened to put it on the fort smith station (93.7?) that was off too. And then 93.7 started playing just rap so I quit listening to it. I hate arkansas' taste in music ;_;
The only real bad thing that I've discovered so far about newstereo is that it seems to be made of that cheap sort of plastic. because it has this weird cd stacking switching system: instead of all five discs being on a rotating plate, they're stuck in little slots, and the slots are pulled up and the cd is picked up from them, and whatever slots you aren't listening to are in a little compartment, like how cassette tapes are. you just pull the little door open (or hit the cd open button . . . ) and there they are!
but it's plastic. so it's rather loud. much louder than -75 Db. but it only happens when you turn it on, switch cds, or turn it off. and with this burned, I won't be switching cds. and YAY, it's done:D
*runs to put it in her stereo and go yay*
*returns*
man I love this thing. It says hello and goodbye, it has a dimmer mode(not as helpful as it could be though. It hink I'll make a little cover for the lights) the bass is AWESOME. You can feel the beat just coursing through you. stupid old cd player didn't have anything like that.
and, if you get it to 0 dB (my bad, it's not Db, but rather dB) well, that's next room loudness right there.

Jan. 2nd, 2005 01:17 pmMan, I was seriously starting to wonder about the people on slashdot.
They post up an image of Iapetus (I always though it was Japetus. which sounds cooler) with a crater.
And it was halfway through the replies that someone mentioned 2001.
that was the first thing I thought of.. and then they go and make star wars references. how sad.
