Our band t-shirts came in today:D Megan says they look really cool, and I guess we get them tomorrow.
We were supposed to vote for a little 'guess how many reeses pieces are in the jar' contest today during third hour, but they never came out to our classrooms to get our guesses!
We have two trailers with two rooms each out there, and I guess we were considered such trailer trash as to not deserve a jar of reese's pieces:(
Actually a girl came out and opened the door with some pieces of paper, but Mr. Wagner didn't let her come in:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Anyways, French class was particularly fun today. We reviewed for our test tomorrow on chapter 8, and mrs. cioppa let us type answers in MS Word (We have class in the MTA lab and don't have a white board. They gave the one we had been using to the elementary school:( So we use the laptop and overhead projector instead!:D)
It was REALLY hot in band today. Like, hotter than it's been. It felt awful. I don't know if we got a lot accomplished or not:( We march tomorrow in the game against Atkins, and then next saturday is Charleston contest! We probably won't get Victim of Love worked up in time to play for it-- we're having enough trouble with easy medley and seven bridges road (we're doing an Eagles theme this year;D)
Quiz bowl was neat. Hannah and I recognized some questions from last year, like ones dealing with the imperial units (I mean, who knows that there are 40 rods in a furlong?! or 600something acres in a square mile.)
There were also a couple of math questions I had no idea how to do, so I memorized them and made mr. cato explain them when he gave us our homework today. The two of them were 'find the first deriviative of x^3+2x^2-x+43' and the other was 'what is the limit of y=(sinx)/x as it approaches [something or other]' Apparently they're not much of anything we'd get to in algebra II by february :P "At the rate this class is going" at least.
We had a boring lab in chem today, it was some sort of 'tell how much heat is gained or lost' and we have a test tomorrow over chapter two-.-
I'm glad I have chem first hour, because we don't have to clean up our lab stations (second hour needs everything out, the pansies) and it doesn't smell bad in there since no one's been in there yet. When I walk through the junior hallway on days we use the burners, it reeks of gas and smells awful:(
I wanted to go to the library today and check out The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. AR deadline is in a couple of weeks and I have no clue how many points I'm supposed to get xD Plus I wanted to reread them so I'd actually remember what happened in the narnia series before the movie comes out:OOO But I didn't get a chance to call home to tell them so I just skipped it.
Speaking of calling, a lot of attention was paid to cell phones today xD
In English, second hour, Mrs. Garza made a reference to hannah's cell phone ("Mrs. Garza! I keep my cell phone in my locker of course!" she and hannah are good friends so it wasn't a big deal xD).
In third hour, when I walked into class, someone's phone was going off, and it was in a purse that had been left there a previous hour. Stephanie looked and it was someone calling from a home number :O (967 is a normal phone prefix, usually for people that live in pottsville or some people on the mountain. There's also 968 for russellville and 890 for people further back on the mountain) I think she figured it was Amber. . . amber someone's, no one I knew, so mr. wagner told her to take it to the office xD
He was really mad. Mr. Wagner is one of the weirdest teachers I've ever had. He seems like he's trying really hard to get students to like him. But he's weird:O He looks familiar, but I don't know who he looks like. He's also incrediably tall, so he stoops really bad.
But the thing is, most of our normal stupid-classes for history are taught by coaches and stuff. But he's not a coach, like coaches lee, harrelson, bishop, young, stevenson, or whoever the main football coach is (I always forget his name) (and not all those guys teach at high school, a lot of them are at middle school, and coach stevenson who was the coolest seems to have left alltogether:/)
He's actually *enthused* about history. That's not really something I can identify with, as I'm in for history as something that could help out in quiz bowl or be entertaining. But he's got us about to start a project protesting some thing or another (casey, I think if I did affirmative action I'd get lynched xD Even if we have like 95% white kids at school xD)
It feels weird being home on a thursday afternoon. Usually I'd be fresh home from band practice right now-- but we had sectionals this week and they were on like monday. Next week is full band, but it's on tuesday. And then we have a meeting about the european trip on tuesday at 7:OOOOOO
anyways, I think this is long enough, so I will end it by saying i wore my awesome orange pants to school and actually got a couple of complements on them. They have a lot of pockets on them xD
You Are 20% Boyish and 80% Girlish |
Even if you're not a girl, you're very feminine. You're in touch with your feelings, and your heart rules you. A bit of a emotional roller coaster, one moment you're up and the next you're down. But no matter what, you try to be as cute and perky as possible. |
