hey pratchett geeks.

Is Going Postal any good?

By good, I mean what type of discworld inhabitants does it center around; the wizards, the witches, the watch (whoa dual alliteration), death and the gang, or what?

I saw it at the library today and realized I hadn't read it. So I can do that between cleaning up before and after thursday.

Today was a wonderful day.

I cannot understand why people would *want* to miss it!

Chemistry was pretty boring, because mr. johnson wouldn't let us talk. Megan (#3) went to the library tow ork on her english essay (I still need an idea for mine. She's writing about patching the hole in the ozone layer with duct tape, which ZOMP is the best idea ever xDDDDD) I went to get my picture from teh art room, plus my crayons (I have it at home so I can scan it all. The middle square is looking so pretty :D) but made a side trip to talk to mr. ray. He and mr. k were relaxing in his office and he told me that he'd be there third hour so I could practice all region.

In english, we gossipped. xDDD

Mrs. Garza is so awesome to talk with, because her son is a senior and she knows how students act, and all the seniors this year she had in class last year and the year before so she knows them really well, and man it was just awesome. I colored some more.

Coke break I checked to see if my stupid drugs essay had finally gone through, (it had:D mrs. curry sent me a reply that I got just now saying so) and they took a picture of megan, rachelle, shelly, and riley who had been in the play (funny, rachelle and shelly are the little sisters of two sisters who look a lot like them, ralesha and maggie respectively)

Third hour I hung out in mr. wagner's class until AR was over (too long man) and I drew a picture of a weird demon I decided to make a lawyer;) Then I headed to band and practiced snare music for all region. I have to play it really slow still, but I can get the counting down. I just always mess up if I try to play it faster xD.

In band, I mostly just tuned the timpani and played that part for half an hour, then I gave in and went to play ERS with everyone over on the platform mr. ray directs from (sometimes he nearly steps off it:O it's about a yard square)

That was SO MUCH FUN.

We were playing with really relaxed rules, like you could slap in even if you hadn't started the game, but we got really vexed with david who kept trying to slap *Every* time, and he would run off with cards every once and a while so tyler had to chase him down xD Once, after he stole a pair of kings (in ERS you slap on doubles, or sometimes 'sandwiches' which are doubles with one card in the middle) Tyler was wrestling with him, and me and Riley went to get the cards since they were distracted (a move that doesn't work well outside of cartoons) and he ran back to the platform where megan grabbed his leg xD (the platform is like six inches high so we were all sitting down to play) I grabbed his other leg and general rowdiness prevailed.

Mr. Ray was watching and laughing at us the entire time xD THEN he said that anyone who had been being good and quiet could go to lunch extra early ;_; He teased us!

Lunch was also good. The cafeteria was half empty:D As kaytie said in third hour, this was about as many people that ought to be in the school *every* day. It was bryce's birthday, so we sang to him and ate the cake his dad brought. It was robin's too so we sang to her too. Then Kim's sister apparently had her birthday today as well so we sang a third time.

Dani tried to go for a fourth and fifth time but she didn't have any company in doing so.

We finished Madame Bovary in French and were pleased to see that Mr. Cato had been correct in his ideas about arsenic poisoning.
Then we played some Mille Bourne (Miles Bones for you once windows 3.1 users) and later Texas Hold 'Em I beat Mrs. Cioppa on a four of kind to her full house:]]

We played more ERS in math, but couldn't get mr. cato to play with us :(

Then, about fifteen minutes before sixth hour was done, we went to seventh hour. then we went HOME.

Man Ic ould've sworn I posted this at like 5PM today.

the new shower gets a tiny bit more bearable every time I use it. Perhaps one day we can come to terms. In the meanwhile, there is stuff to be washed off and it's too cold ot use a waterhose.

Where are crow's feet wrinkle things at?

(that's the second questiion I've asked this entry)

I really like that Freebies rss feed About.com has on LJ. I just got my sample post-it photo paper today. It's really neat; I printed off http://www.snowy-day.net/pictures/clouds3.jpg and stuck it to my mirror. I keep to get some more tape and make my picture of Endeavor lie still. It broke the last time I had on it.

I hope Hypnotize has another sticker like mezmerize did so I can stick that down there too. I like sticking things to my mirror. It likes having things stuck to it. I vaguely remember being in here once when it was still my sister's room, back when cory still lived in the house. I think she had stuff stuck on it then too.

I really think that I have one of the best computer set ups in the world.

Meredith is the only one that knows this from personal sitting herself, but some of you have seen the random pictures of my desktop, but that doesn't catch the feel of the area one bit.

When you walk into my house from the south-facing sliding glass doors (these don't have a name. The one on the front porch is the front door, mom's smoking room door is the west door, the back sliding glass doors are teh back door, the one going out from the cat room is the east door, but these have no name) you are in the dining room looking at a wall or some curtain. If you turn to the right, you'll notice there are two sets of identical rooms you can enter. You may enter the one on the left and be in the cat room, where dad's computer is, or you may enter the right one and be in this room, the den, where dad's office desk and my computer are

The first thing to note about this room is that it is of a ratio of nearly 2x1 length x width. And it has a closet. The first thing you would probably note having entered it was that it is very messy.

But anyways, at the far end where the closet is, there is a three foot square space, where the room continues on but there is no closet. Right before this space starts, there is a computer desk against the south wall (the side the door was you came in on). There is a window behind it, the same width, yet a little offcentered. Once in a while I open it (a very dangerous thing, as it involves standing on the aging computer desk) to use the entire world as a heat sink. Or just because it's nice outside. West of the desk, which protrudes two away from the wall, leaving more or less a one foot gap to gain access to the enclave, there is a series of shelves, also about two by four in top surface area.

But back to the enclave. There is small wall my dad built that faces west next to teh closet, where teh door hooks on. It boasts a clock, half a turtle shell (the other half is over the door, because the door doesn't go all the way up and there's some wall up above it) and of course, a four foot mirror. When I sit in my rocking recliner chair in the manner that i am sitting in it right now and probably will sit many times from now, my feet touch the very bottom of the mirror and are just a little less elevated than my keyboard.

The easiest way to type with the recliner is like this, Half lying on my right side, feet curled up, keyboard pulled out, arms still having to stretch a bit to type, looking at the screen at a 45 degree angle opposite of what I was accustomed to in the computer chairs i used before.

If I want to stretch my legs, I can go into full reclining mode, which I haven't done much and still used the computer since summer. But it involves revolving the recliner to face the monitor face on, parallel to the mirror and perpindicular to eveything else, hooking my feet on the footstool I keep for these very purposes under the desk, and pulling the keyboard out as far as it will go. Of course I can't reach the mouse at all, so I just use the tablet instead, which reaches nicely.

So, once you realize that my head barely comes a few inches above teh recliner when I sit in this most comfortable position mentioned in the second to previous paragraph, the entire feeling is not unlike being in a small subroom. It's cozy and now that I've gotten used to the feelings of guilt coming from having my parents have such low visibility of me, as well as skill in using the mirror to detect movement in the kitchen, hallway, and dining room, as well as if my parents are standing behind me and I don't want to face them, it's pretty groovy.

(right now my mirror has the aforementioned clouds3.jpg, a picture of chewbacca from a bag of lays potato chips, the mezmerize album sticker, and a print of the shuttle discovery taking off)

Okay so I thought I had more than that. I'm sure I'll remember/make up more eventually.
