Sep. 9th, 2006 12:54 amWe won:]
We had to play one of the two teams ranked lower than us (it's their first year of football I think;ooooooooooo but we won; 46-32! Their band is full of sweet people. This one girl named jennifer kept going to everyone and trying to learn their names xD I talked with her a while.
I also talked to shannon some; told him I had two cases of bawls and he got about as enthusiastic as stu would xD
Um, we had more of the usual temperature drama. all the people sitting in the back seats were all "OMG WE"RE COLD PUT YOUR WINDOWS UP" screaming and standing up etc. And on a bus ride thats a couple of hours long, some people can't stand going through hills without air in their face (I felt sorta queasy on the way up there;o) and some are actually hot. And some of us just like to spite them because they are terrible pricks about it. You're mostly all 17 years old and you're seniors in high school, and you're chanting "WINDOWS UP! WINDOWS UP!"
It's a rather large source of vexation.
Hmm. My mom is awake right now, and apparently has been imbibing of some concoction including something and barcadi rum, if dad's testamony and the bottles on the cabinet are any judge. my brother and his girlfriend are also over (I do not remember the last time we ever had company at 1 am) but apparently they have not had any 'cold toddy'.
Oh. CSU (Christian Student Union) was fairly awesome at school today. Including the speaker and two teachers (sponsors/chaperones) we had 50 people in the Spanish classroom we meet in. FIFTY That would be akin to having half of the senior class in there. We used to meet in the Commons, but due to crazy crowding, they started letting seniors eat lunch in there, and this year, high scoring juniors can too. But we had the open suggestion that if we had consistantly higher numbers than the numbers of seniors eating, we could use it instead. Now I'm not sure how many seniors and juniors eat in the commons, but I'm not sure it's much more than 47.
On a tangential topic, there's this certain girl at my school who used to be in CSU and CSU leadership, but since then she got rather disgusted with certain members and fairly denounced us entirely. Since then, as her xanga and attire would be testaments to, she has become rather. . . emo. Of course that would frustrate her a lot to have that said, but *shrugs*. Anyways, I don't despise her quite as much as everyone else does (There's a very large despising ratio and has been for a while. As we Southerners would say, she is a "Pistol" and sorta like FF8 in her polarity. Except there's usually more people that don't like her.
Anyways. Every now and then I let her give me a hug (she makes a big deal out of asking people if they need hugs, maybe because she's starved for physical contact? I don't know. It unnerves a lot of people) or try to greet her in the hallways.
Tonight, I decided I would be cool and help with the loading and unloading of the instrument bus (which was recently painted and is incredibly gold). When we got home, I crept in the front entrance while everyone was handing things out the back, and I noticed two large cases, larger than I was expecting to have to take through a door, one was a trombone case and probably Megan's, and the other was Dani's sax case. I take a second to pick one and pick dani's for no reason that I know of. Anyways, as I'm walking between teh school and thebus (it's parked really close:() I hear dani saying 'I'm just staying here until I get my instrument and then I'm going HOME" very cranky-tired and vehement like. I start yelling her name because I have her instrument, and she finally hears me and is like "Oh my God! Allison, I love you so much!" And the relief in her voice is amazing to hear.
CSU's theme this year is "For Such a Time As This" referring to the verse in Esther where Mordacai is telling Esther that perhaps saving the Jews was the very reason that she was picked to be Queen.
And it seems so appropriate tonight.
