That's because there are more and longer FMV's in FF9 than FF8, until the very end of FF8, and thats on disc 2, so it doesn't matter about space, as the game only takes up 1/3 of disc 2, as opposed to the game using 3/4 of disc 1. Thats why you were on FF8 disc 1 for so much longer, it had more game on it. Of course, playing time matters too, are you playing FF9 more each day than you were FF8?

Can't you get through ff9 in less than twelve hours though? I'd expect it to be fast.

I can't remember.. But I was juggling waking up late every day and having to go to bible school..

I think I have twenty hours on it so far.. that'd be about.. three hours a day? I'd go and look where I was at the end of disc2 in ff8, but I think I saved over all of those already;) Of course, I didn't realize that when you paused it stopped the clock, because it never seemed like it did that in ffx, so I just left it on the save screen to remind me that I could turn it off at any time now^

(I did figure it probably was the fmvs^^)

I dunno, I've got twenty hours on it, so if you were playing a super quick game you probably could@.@;
