Fun Fact of the Day:

In Mozilla Firefox, if you set browser.triple_click_selects_paragraph to TRUE and browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll also, you can't select all the text in the address bar no matter how many times you click.

(I keep toggling the latter but it still won't select all in one click ;.; I probably just need to restart firefox, but lordy not now!)

Also, this one is rather helpful!

If you find that firefox (1.5) lags terribly when you open large pictures in tabs, such as from APOD or various LJ photo communities (I like [livejournal.com profile] jumpingpictures myself) then, set browser.chrome.image_icons.max_size to a smaller value. I have it on about 300 right now. I believe default is about 1024 or so. you can change this in about:config (just type that as if it were an address into firefox's address bar), the values are in pixels. I don't reccomend messing with the other values unless you know exactly what they are:] there's a lot of them.

What this does, is that it tells firefox (1.5) to STOP rendering those huge images into a tiny 16x16 square.

We all know how badly firefox complains when it has to resize images right? I know every time I scroll over some stupid idiot's post with them in one of the aforementioned communities. (Then when you tell them [nicely] what jerks they're being, they say they don't care. Well, screw you too buddy ^_^)

Anyways, now that I know that I can open large images with impunity again, I feel better ^_^ (firefox 1.5 has been giving really bad memory usage trouble, that other people don't seem to get. But I love how you can hover to change the focus of the scrolling, (like in mIRC) so I'm dealing with it by closing it often (overnight particularly) and doing stuff like this.

Anyways, it's the last day of Christmas vacation, and that makes me sad. But stuart makes me glad, but it's the end of his vacation just about too, and that makes me sad again (although secretly happy because then he won't be mansexing people when I'm gone to school! Although b0b is one of the main culprits, and luckily he's going back to work soon also and will have to live on normal people's time which is giving him such a hard time!:D

Stuart, has it been nearly an entire month already? That seems like an incredible amount of time, especially when you're waiting for something, but when the days and the evenings and the nights are filled with your words, your geekeries, and your pronz (it's my turn now isn't it:(), it seems like they were barely there at all. I still don't know what happened to the week before and after Christmas! Days of voice chatting, of wild PMing, and of #tot have just been too much fun to speak of, and they are gone, but I'm confident there will be more to follow at some point. Stu, baby, thank you so much for being you; you call me smart, then go on about programming and OS things that I have no clue about whatsoever, and I love that. You call your thoughts lame, but they were exactly what I hoped they'd be, deep inside what kishi might call my true mind, and I love that too. You might pretend to have cybarsecks with men (b0b;_; denffe;_; pip;_; ) but you don't; you pretend you do with me, but you don't do that either, and I'm glad. (that sort of thing is dirty you know!)

please continue being cute and wonderful and so pleasing as you are.

<3 love you.

Okay, now that he's been shouted out, I must confess the reason behind a bit of my mushiness.

I read a library book.

In one day. (Azzie can confirm that I started it earlier yesterday afternoon, The House of Gentle Men, and no, not gentlemen.)

and it was sappy and awesome and I had to stay up until 3:20 reading it (but didn't get to sleep for another hour still) and oh my gosh I havent' read a book that fast in a while, and you all need to read it, here's looking at you stuben, and zomp.

It was very predictable, as far as big shocking events go, but I read anyways just to make sure they turned out, and boy they turned out very well <3

Anyways, today, I plan on MAYBE going to town, working on my playlist, MAYBE painting, playing Vagrant Story (what, I'm only 12% done STILL?!) MAYBE.

But golly gee, I gotsta gets to bed tonight;.;

I want to deny some of that, but it drives me nuts when I tell you things and you start being modest, so the only thing I can think of to say in response is that I love you too. Words kind of escape me at the moment xD

I do take music suggestions from people other than you, you know.

"you've elicited me to listen to that song for the first time in a while."

I didn't realize that other people were me as well. unless that's some sort of freaky plural collective you.

perhaps "elicited" was the wrong word. let me try again.

you, right now, with your mentioning of the song, have caused me to go into my music files and listen to Caring Is Creepy by The Shins, a song I have not listened to in a while.

better?
