I was going to do this the other night.

Things I need to do shortly:

categories-- writing, reading, thinking, packing, eating, exercising, playing.

Writing- this is probably the most important one. I need to write a two page report about my study abroad experience:
We just want 2 pages about your experiences. What was worthwhile, what wasn’t. What impressed you the most? What surprised you? Should other students go? Why? Both inside and outside the classroom. You can include one or two pictures of you there with you in the picture.

I also need to write my [first] annual report for my fellowship:
2008-2009 HONORS COLLEGE FELLOWSHIP ANNUAL REPORT
*Your name (nick name if you prefer one)
*Local Address, Phone, Cell, e-mail (if other than uark)
*Parents' names (for publicity purposes)
*Majors/minors
*Courses taken last year--fall, spring, summer (if any)
*2008 summer activities
*Highlights for the year (300-word minimum in narrative form)
Include special scholarships or grant applications/awards,
conferences, research, publications, special courses, study
abroad, internships, co-ops, honors, special recognition, special
jobs, etc.
*Plans for fall 2008 (250-word minimum)
To include courses (comments are welcome), campus and community
engagement, special academic programs, study abroad
Future study abroad plans (if not immediate)
National or state scholarship application plans (SURF, Truman, Rhodes,
Marshall, Gates, Goldwater, etc.)
*Research plans--juniors and seniors should be more detailed in their
responses (250 word minimum)
Seniors please include a section about your honors thesis.
Include your topic, your mentor, and your committee members if
you know them. Also include graduate, medical, and law schools
you are (at least at the moment) planning to apply to.
Concerns (if any)

I probably also should answer the e-mail my pastor sent me before I left for TN; they tend to worry over me!

Reading- not important, but my best time killer. Right now, I'm almost done with Life, the Universe, and Everything, Flowers for Algernon, and Annals of the Witch World (I finished the Han Solo adventures in the meantime), up next will probably be either Chronicles of the Witch World (again, I know), or Warding, since I haven't read that one yet, hyperion cantos, and something from my huge to-read stack. or maybe the rest of HHGTTG.

Thinking- pretty important; my GP pretty much demanded I come back to see him, and if I don't go within the next two weeks, I don't think I'll be able to until Thanksgiving, unless I skip classes some friday. Well, I guess it's just Cal III in the afternoon, but I hate to skip cal, but we do have a drill for it, so.
I really do feel so much more calm, less anxious. I don't know if I'll stay that way when school starts, but I do hope so. There's so much wasted energy and time involved in being sad and teary all the time, and it makes my relationship with stu so much easier by not pouring unneeded burdens onto him too.

Packing- I am so ready to pack again. I haven't even moved my clean clothes out of my suitcase; I've basically just been picking stuff out of it to wear each day (which means I've been dressing pretty cute except yesterday when I was painting). My mom and I got a refrigerator at Wal-Mart today (and fit it into my CAR holy crap! My car can fit everything in the backseat but like nothing in the trunk, it's so crazy). I'm about ready to start the dorm experience over again. I'm even looking forward to living with a freshman, teaching her what's what at campus etc etc. I am such a sucker for sharing knowledge.

Eating- Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeh. I didn't gain a lot of weight on my mini-vacation, but I didn't lose any either! Sheesh. Stu says when we get into school, he wants us to see if we can go a week where I don't eat any chips and he doesn't drink any cokes. He says he won't even drink diet cokes because they'll just tempt him further, but he says he'll allow me pretzels. Whatever, they're practically just as bad (even if slightly healthier while being calorific). we'll see how that goes!

Exercising- I put in quite a bit of work on the exercise bike at stu's house. I would ride until I got to 100 calories on the meter, by which time I was usually pooped, and as a cool down, I'd drag it close to one of the armchairs and lay down low in the chair and just pedal while rocking. That netted an extra 25 calories usually and was pretty low-stress. I know that number isn't huge, but tt's an extra bite-sized snickers bar :)

Playing- playing with mussie is probably more exercise than I get anywhere else! sheesh! dad and I were watching The Color Purple this evening and mussie just got sooooooooooooo bored by the end of it I had to get up and play tug with him xD
I was also jonesin' for my trumpet when in ohio, so I put in extra time singing and playing ff4. But now that I'm home, I feel shy about playing out loud, but I've been reviewing the fingerings and "dry power"ing it (blowing air through the horn and pushing the keys, but not buzzing the mouthpiece). I still can do the chromatic scale, i think. I usually run out of breath just doing half of it though xD open 123 13 23 3(12) 2 1 open!
I need to look up whether 3 is an acceptable alternate fingering for 12; I find it easier to remember even though I learned 12 first. Maybe just for certain registers?
Also, speaking of ff4; I am jonesing for IT so bad right now. I put in like I dunno, 19 hours before I had to leave it to stu's greasy hands, and I'm playing Mystic Quest for eyeson plays, but it's just not the same ;.;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; I WANT CUTE SPRITES AND AN INTERESTING BATTLE SYSTEM. For interesting battles in MQ, I change who attacks whom or maybe cast a spell. GARRRRR. But I"m further than I've ever been in it before, which is a good sign.

okay, so that kinda turned into the things I have been doing instead of needing to do, but I'm all the same.
