Ah, band trips. Even 25 years after high school I still have the occasional marching band dream (although usually it's about how I forgot my uniform or have no idea what the show is and my place in it, etc. STRESS!) My wife does, too.
Socializing with coworkers is good. Mine don't, because I work at an engineering firm where everyone puts in their time and then goes home to their families. That's what happens when everyone is in their 30's and 40's and 50's. Making friends at work (hell, anywhere) gets so much more challenging where you're older.
