Jul. 21st, 2003 01:08 am@.@;
Surprisingly, even after staying up way too late last night, I still managed to pay attention in church this morning^^
Although, after I was woken up by *mom*, after I'd managed to get back to sleep after a way-too-energetic two year old ran *SCREAMING* through my bed room a couple of times, I did manage to get rather confused.
It didn't help that I was sorta angry about CJ (nephew screaming), but then she told me that dad had gone on a call somewhere. Plus, it was later than i usually wake up, and every time I wake up later than I should, or I think I have, I start going on time-saving panic mode.
Anyways, I change into more decent clothes to wear in front of other people, and try to wake myself up, but as I get to the kitchen, I find my dad making bacon.
This confuses me horribly, so I fumble my way to the piano bench and look very confused, I'm sure, while dad and mom ask me if something's wrong. It takes her forever to realize that I'm confused about what she'd told me, and then tells me he had just walked through the door when she was waking me up.
I start worrying again, because bacon will take much longer to prepare than usual stuff, so I go back to get dressed for church, and cry a bit because I felt I had thoroughly been taken advantage of-- my privacy invaded (CJ appears to not have realized that the big brown thing with a lot of white things and movies on it can be opened to get to my room. So I was sorta angry that mom hadn't closed the door like she usually does. He doesn't seem to know that the bathroom door also goes to my bedroom), and having been lied to.
I get over it soon enough and get dressed--light khaki pants and striped shirt^.^
Go back into the kitchen and play the piano a bit while dad finishes with the bacon and waffles, then he, amy and I go into the dining room (for the first time in years@.@) to eat, because there's not really room for all three people in the living room to eat without having to get up and move around a lot.
Anyways, go to wait for tisha, who's a bit late; we get down into the town and make witticisms about the bank clock which must've gone off or something, because it was reading about forty minutes behind and 0 degrees. We said that this completely disproved the idea that no human could live at zero kelvin.
We were like the farthest out in the parking lot@.@ only one car was further out. and on a day that was about ninety degrees and 99.9% humidity -_- plus, my feet were rather sore, and my shoes (which are sorta cheap) just made them worse.
Took a rather odd measure today, instead of waiting for tisha, I went ahead and went first in the door@.@; Usually, I just follow her and herald, but somehow I was in front today@.@;
We had the pew to ourselves again, which was nice, but the little blonde boy was in front of us again.. I pity his mother^^ he's always climbing all over her during the service..
Tisha and I discuss band while everyone gets there before they start the 'Call to Worship' then the sharing of joys and concerns@.@; The call to worship is just a verse in the program (almost always a psalm) and the joys and concerns just sorta lets everyone know what's gone on the last week. (That reminds me of poor ollie dixon:/ When I first started going with Tish, I was sorta confused with everything and the way they did stuff, and hers was the first name I remembered long enough to pray for--she ended up dying a few weeks later:/)
One of the hymns today was Standing on the Promises, which was nice, because it's one I know^^ If I couldnt' read music, singing would be much more difficult@.@;
Anywas, the sermon was on Mark 7... 31 through the end of the chapter, I think, where Jesus heals a deaf mute man@.@ I had no idea how on earth Howard (our supply preacher@.@ they don't have an official one.. he's filling in until they find one... poor guy.. he and his family drive an hour or two to come here.. why, I have no idea@.@ but it's really nice, because he preaches well^^) was going to make anything out of it, and I couldn't get the point for a bit.
Here's the passage:
7:31 ΒΆ And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
7:32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
7:33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
7:34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
7:35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
7:36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published [it];
7:37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
(^^ that file-folder of the bible verses is handy)
Anyways, until he started going on about 7:33 and :34, I couldn't grasp what he was driving at. He then explained how Jesus was trying to get the deaf man to realize what he was about to do, so he could attribute it to the grace of God, some what. Sticking fingers in his ear to demonstrate the lack of hearing, spitting to show healing (saliva as a curative? weird@.@) and then touching his tongue to show the speech inpediment;. I don't think I quite got the idea across, but it was nice all the same^^
Didn't do much else the rest of the day. CJ was asleep, thankfully, when I got back, so amy and I t00bed around, played a little FFX (got two new monster arena bosses--This one thing that looks like Adamantoise from the omega ruins, and neslug for getting all ten areas taken care of. Spanked the first one royally, rather gave up on the second. Then decided to level up a bit, and with the new items I'd acquired, made some lovely triple ap/overdrive--ap weapons for yuna rikku and tidus. None for kimahri and lulu, just sorta gave up on them. Auron and Wakka already had decent ones. Messed around with overdrive tricks with cactuar king, got a lovely 26 sphere levels for auron, and about 15 each for yuna and rikku^^;;;; Finally used up some stupid mana spheres. If only I had as many power spheres.. I think I have about seventeen left)
Ooh! I just remembered^^ Mr. Wheeler (howard) mentioned Pilgrim's Progress in his sermon this morning^^ I was rather amused, as I've been reading that (well, I had been, but I had to recheck the books and I sorta switched to ring of endless light this fortnight instead... meep.. )
Did my latest run yet. Rather proud of myself, this is turning out to be something I'm actually getting done, somehow.. unlike my pre-ap work..
Now I feel guilty, so after mentioning that a late run was at 11:30, Imma gonna go and try to read some and maybe do some questions..
Probably end up just reading^^
