It occured to me lately that my family, and perhaps society in general is very vague.
There are far too many words like 'thing' 'doohicky' 'dealie' 'such and such'.
I realize also that I fail to include specific details myself in many areas. It's rather like the difference between vector and raster images.
Raster images, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, etc define a value for every image.
Vector images, such as the ones in flash animations or,as I suspect, in modern cartoons, define shapes and the movement of those shapes.
This is why flash movies can be terribly long and much smaller size than a similar quality mpeg or avi.
However, how many vector images do you know of look realistic?
A variety of jpegs, pngs, gifs, and bitmaps look realistic; we use those formats for digital pictures and digital scans of analog pictures.
But by the time that you had enough shapes in a vector where it came close to the 16 million colors, or 24 million colors, or even perhaps 32 or 64 that we expect from photographs, the size would have grown considerably.
Instead of memorizing details about things, (another vague word right there), I'll memorize details about it. this morning about 2AM, I was trying desperately to think of a word, and in despair, I turned to the #eoffers.
See how I gave teh connotation, similar words, and the first letters < never mind that they're wrong, that's because I don't remember the exact details of teh letters either, just the information about them:])
If I hadn't stored that information about the word spontaneous in a vector-type format, I could've remembered it far faster.
Vectors take more processing power to render, anyways.
