I am starting to get ticked off beyond reason, and I've only been trying to use my computer for twenty minutes.

I hate computers.

I thought I was going to be cunning and out-smart my computer. Everytime the power goes off, I have to replug my mouse in before it will work. Well the computer was off,w hich means the power went off (or my parents have been touching it, which can be punishable with death). So I reached back and replugged it.

Turned it on.

Windows made a weird flashing blue light before going to the XP boot screen, and when my mouse showed up, it was huge.

For some reason, it had decided to boot in 600x400 resolution.

Then, I decided I would get past that. opened winamp and wondered what I had done with that slimmed down playlist I had made. Tried to load it and got an XML parse error (serves me right for having saved it as a B4S).

So I open it and realize that half of the playlist is in < instead of < and similar.

I set notepad to try and replace them, and OH MY GOSH. It moves at a rate I probably could've beaten pasting by hand!

Needless to say notepad freezes shortly and drags my entire system along with it.

I suppose that <xmp> is too good for me. One of those was supposed to be an angle bracket, obviously.

What OS are you running?

XP home.

I imagine that the nvidia display thing that I sadly ran and has since had a helpful icon with such things as resolution and color depth might have done something with it.

the weirdest part was the standby button being greyed out on the Turn Off Computer menu box.

That is extremely weird behavior for XP. Are you running all of the most recent drivers/patches, and have you done anything lately to anger your computer? Occasionally these machines will try to emulate human behavior in an attempt to spark some sort of revolution.

Of course not and of course yes.

I'm almost positive it was the nvidia thing xD seeing how it was in the boot menu, Ithink. that or there's some weird spyware with short names that start with n.
