oh my gosh another one of those play for ten hours days

I got second place in the pre-cal math competition today 8) Sadly the state competition is on April 28th, on which date I will be enjoying the presence of one [livejournal.com profile] uselessrandom.

OH MY LANDSSAKE.

I feel rather accomplished though. In my misery somewhere at the start of the second ascent, I vainly googled for some clue as to where a MAP might be, and one site (ffwa I think!) had the gall to suggest that the second ascent had NO map. (it's up in the top left corner of the second room btw) After that, I decided I might be better off not trusting what I read on the internet.

I really liked the second ascent's music btw, it had a neat little either swing or shuffle (I forget which) underbeat to it and was not nearly as frantic feeling as the first ascent's.

Then on the third ascent, I panicked again looking at all the freaking waystones (I think I did it black green red sacrifice yellow (because I forsook items). And somehow I got myself into a horrible battle with zombie warriors, necrosomethings and dead somethings. And they kept respawning. And respawning. And respawning. And respawning. I was about to get frantic. and THEN suddenly! "The magicks binding the door fade!" and I ran through the freaking door as soon as I could. Even left a little bit of loot behind that I recaptured when I was brave and had a chance to freak out over the intense battling I'd just done.

Also man I have gotten like three different espers today I swear. Okay maybe just two. BUT DANG. Also bosses. I expect a hefty bonus from montblanc when I get my rear back in rabanastre. Also hunts? I didn't know those were hunts. Dang. Maybe those are the 'really hard monsters that aren't even hunts' someone in clan hall was talking about.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I hope i don't have waking dreams of this poop tonight, I'll go insane.

As for the storyline stuff that happened. I kinda laughed when ashe was trying to fight against the mist coming off the sun-cryst (wtp? did they pull that name from the fanslated ff2 nes? NEO DEMIFORCE or whoever would be proud!) to smack it into oblivion. She looked so dumb standing there rocking back and forth like a ragdoll xD

Reddas gets major props. He tended to KO easy but just berserkhastebravery him and he's good! well not anymore, he's kinda dead.

I'm kinda wondering if this bahamut is a giant airship. That would be so dumb; who would have made a giant airship?

also I kinda felt sorry for gabranth; he didn't deserve to be tossed on the wall like a ragdoll :( mean ol' cid. I"M GLAD HE"S GONE. (or is he? One never knows in video games).

Man it would suck to lose that fight to cid and whathisname famfrit. (how did he get manufactured nethicite to summon an esper? crazy mang) and have to go through all that crap earlier. It made me think of the yunalesca battle in ffx, except you can't skip scenes in ffx.

What I'd like to know is how they got off that tower top all safe on the strahl without being consumed by the mist or exploded or hitting something at the wrong angle and breaking their backs or falling off forever down the cataract. ugh loose ends>:[

as for math, the only ones I didn't know how to do were mostly circles (although I figured the important ones out by the other questions) and this weird vector thing. I wasn't aware that i and j were assigned concrete values, so being told to find their exact values added together wa a big mindboggling.

Also, what is the coefficient of x^6y^9 in (x+y)^15? I think I said it was 3003 xD I just kinda circled one because I'd only worked it out to (x+y)^8 by the time they called time because I didn't know how to do it xD

I watched a new part of forrest gump I hadn't seen [in a long time/before]. It's the part when he's actually in vietnam. Usually I pick it up when he's mooning the audience getting his congressional medal of honor. I didn't watch past the part where he and lt. dan are in the floor at the hospital.

It's kinda weird. My dad was almost old enough to be drafted back then, he missed out by about three years. How weird would it be if he was one of the bitter amputees who come back to face people who hated them for going and the realization that going was futile in every way. That would be pretty terrible.

Reading "Born on the Fourth of July" by Ron Kovic really opened my eyes to what life was like for injured Vietnam veterans returning home.
