I had some great thing to post

but now I've forgotten what it was.
my mbp temp right now is 48C. After removing the fully-charged battery, it's 46! Of course the fans are running at 4300 rpm (of my four speed settings in smcfan control, this is the only one I can really audibly hear. The default 1000 makes you wonder if there are fans, 1600 doesn't give any proof, and you can just imagine you hear something at 2300.
Temperature is something i've been concerned with lately. I'm getting tired of the stale air of Pomfret's air conditioning system, so I like to leave the window open if it's humanly possible. And if it just gets up to 80 or so (not celcius) it's quite nice. But you have to have the door open. It seems the entire B-wing acts as a vacuum that the air from outside just can't stand to leave alone. So then there is a created breeze. Even just propping the door open (as I have done now, since it's early sunday morning and my roommate was still asleep-- it gives a bit of privacy) does this, and the difference between door shut and seven inches of breezeway makes a wonderful difference.
I heard birds singing outside the window this morning, and it felt so much like a sunday morning at home I was very pleased. I didn't know I heard so many birds outside on sunday mornings at home, but it was nice.
It's kinda weird, being at college not only am I homesick for dear pottsville and russellville, but also for greenville. I didn't realize that I had spent so much time in that little place. Hmm, two weeks plus one week, plus a weekend, plus three weeks, I guess that's about a month and a half. I guess it's about the quality of time you spend there, and you can do a lot of quality things in greenville.
Being around stu is still the most wonderful and most natural thing in the world. We have little tiffs, but we wouldn't have so many if I didn't have so many insecurities and dependancies :D or if he would let me clothes shop in peace, but those aren't really important the next day.
It's funny, I commonly lose track of what day it is. Not having to write on a piece of paper '9-23-07' several times everyday kinda takes that away. During school I always knew what day of the month it was. Now I keep track of time in terms of my schedule and what week it is. I suppose that's a natural progression due to the increasing speed of time as I age.
Instead of gaining decision about what branch of engineering I want to dedicate myself to, I've just been offered indecision. Mechanical engineering, while offering that tantalizing branch called astronautics, seems to be rather mundane otherwise, full of people management opportunities, which is not something I desire. Electrical and Computer, while rather obvious choices considering my background and hobbies have sprung to the forefront as possibilities as well. (the second is self-evident, and the former-- my grandpa and two of my uncles were electrical engineers. but my dad does HVACR, which is rather mechanical in nature).
but yeah, the extra five hours of course a week are doing their job to help me decide, at least by telling me I do need to decide and that I haven't necessarily yet.
I am all kinds of afraid and eager to see what I made on my very first calculus test. It was embarassing; I forgot how to find the limit at the beginning of it, so I had to skip the first page and do all the derivative problems first xD I think I figured the limits out at the end though. (it was mostly 'omg how do I get rid of the indeterminancy ;.;')
My first chemistry test is tomorrow night. I think I really need to bone up on the polyatomic ions xD I got so used to just looking them up the last couple of years. also organic compounds. xDDD My chem professor pronounces 'compound' so weird. it's almost like she says 'cumpound' and it makes me laugh.
In other news, i am definitely ready for halloween this year. I think having someone around that I can do stuff with and who is excited about it as well adds to that. I got a little ceramic jack'o'lantern for the window (I was going to bring an electric tea light to put in, but it hasn't seemed to have made it from russellville to fayetteville), some glow in the dark skeletons that are hanging above the mirror in both our rooms, a page I colored (pretty awesomely!) from a peanuts coloring book, and everytime we go somewhere, we have to look through every single costume.
my cell phone is out in my car I think. i should go get it.
but yeah, anyways. thiosulfate ho!
