rubahthe glass that dad and i put in seems to work fine!
we had two pieces left over (a small white piece and a even smaller black piece that I mused might be copy protection. Scanners have that stuff right? ) but leaving them out didn't seem to affect the scanning process any. I scanned two things and both were fine. There are small smudges and black marks from smudges/glue on the glass but that's par for the course for my scanner xD (except traditionally such spots were on the outside of the glass)
This has me rather cheered up!
