Jan. 30th, 2009 01:41 amIn Watchers of the Skies, a certain Frenchman who was obsessed with finding a satellite of Mercury was called a "mauvais coucheur" by another Frenchman. In the 7th grade, I was deeply amused by this phrase, but unfortunately, the on-line translations of the time rendered it as 'bad customer' rather than 'bad bedfellow', which completely obliterated the meaning, of course. My flirty attempt to use it on the object of my crushation at the time, fell flat on its face.
