various OOtP spoilers.

rubahJust a few thoughts I'm having about OOtP after nine-ten hours of interrupted reading
1) I didn't think Dumbledore and Fawkes were that connected. It's like Fawkes can read his mind. D/F anyone?
2) Why can't Harry appreciate Lupin more? I mean, I know Sirius was his Godfather, and the clearest link to his parents, but Lupin is almost as similar.. I guess it lacks the 'blood' relativeness that Sirius, James, and Harry had. But still. I still think he might've gone to Lupin for comfort rather than Dumbledore, Hagrid, or Hermione..
3) Why can't teenage boys hug anyone -_- Consistantly, I was wanting harry to hug (not slashlike, platonically) Neville in sympathy and stuff@.@ Too much IRC I guess...
4) I was surprised at the lack of Viktor Krum.. I think there were probably two references to him in the book, counting the letter that Hermione wrote and which she seems to've never gotten an answer to...
5) I like Ginny's newish attitude. She had a bit of it back in GoF, but not nearly at that point. If you frequent kell's bbs ( yarwood.org/sfo I think) you've already read this probably, but meh:P I laughed though when she cursed that one time. Fred and George really aren't the best role-models^.^
6) I felt quite a bit of pity for Trelawney now.. She seemed positively broken when Umbridge fired her. Nice though that Dumbledore refused to turn her out. I was positively *tickled* when it was Firenze that replaced her^.^
7) What date is Neville's birthday? Is it on the 31st too? or maybe the 29th or so?
8) I have got to quit thinking of Lupin looking like that chibi hogwarts staff picture that http://www.angelfire.com/wy/sirius/main.html made forever ago.. Honestly, that image is still one of my favorite fan-arts.
9) Am I the only one bothered by all the references to the mini-classroom set books? 'room to swing a kneazle in' and bowtruckles, and crups?
10) I feel sad that Snape can't overcome James and be kind to Harry.. It feels like wasted effort, and I wondered if Harry would act like that in future to one of Snape's kin or decendents or summat...
11) The ultimatum that the prophecy declared bothers me. With the dark turn of the books, it doesn't seem like Harry is as likely to be the one who wins..
12) I'm sorta comforted though, at least the Ministry has their faces the right way now.. well, they *say* they do.. A war against voldemort on the side of hogwarts and the ministry isn't what I expected until it subtly implied it, but it doesn't feel right.. I mean it's what you expected after the first three-four books, but not in the middle of the fifth.
13) centaurs scare me@.@;;;; Hermione should've said something like 'We knew that your impartial judgement would wreak some sort of righteousness' but I guess she was probably too scared (or JRK wanted to work in Grawp really badly:P) then again, they probably would've taken it the wrong way too.
14) When harry skipped the feast, I was more prepared for him to go back to the room of wishes or whatever@.@ (can't remember what it's called...) than to a ghost.. I mean, couldn't the room come up with a mirror of erised.. meh, that'd probably be the worst thing harry could've done though.
15) Luna was a bit... blatant name@.@
16) I wonder how many RPGs will try to start the Quibbler magazine now...
17) I wish Harry could've told Phineas' portrait of Sirius dying... It might've helped both of them.. But you just can't do that in a state like that... -_-
Additions:
18) I respect Petunia quite a bit more now.
19) Delores Umbridge is a sadistic freak. Wasn't inflicting wounds on students illegal before she changed it for Filch?
20) Lockhart keeps his celebrity well^^;
21) 'High Inquisitor'.... why does that seem like it should be illegal for most democrasies and many other forms of government like the MoM?
22) We're going to have to wait forever to find out what Harry, Ron, and Hermione made on their O.W.L.s! @.@;;;;;;; I was hoping she'd mention at the end of the book:/
23) S.P.T. to A.P.W.B.D-- We know Dumbledore's full name (I can't remember all of it, and do *not* want to look it up, but what does Trelawney's 'P' stand for? Patrisha? Petronella? Something mystic similar to Sybill and Trelawney?

(Note- not to mention, Harry wouldn't get a bonus point in DADA O.W.L.s, wouldn't be almost expelled, and would be soulless from the Dementor's Kiss. Go Lupin!)
