I should have some idea how antipsychotic drugs work since we had to do Mental health center rotations and needed to learn psychiatric nursing. But no, trying to think about it would be stressful ;)

But mostly, I think they mostly try to balance whatever chemical imbalance the body has that contributes to the problem.

However, the thing that's focused on helping them become "careless" is probably therapeutic communication. ;)

But I guess the drugs are needed to catch the disorder off guard enough for the non-pharmaceutical therapy to kick in.

But ... that's kind of me missing the point of the post.
